Historical Cats - 1968 Red Persian cat

When I look at the old photos - and my own red cats - the reds seem to have a similarity in their 'look'. 

Historically the old type Red Persians have a distinct look in common. Perhaps because they used to be colour bred? Meaning that only red cats were used when breeding red.
